In discussing this month’s introduction of the Titleist 913 D2 and titleist 913 D3 drivers, firm engineers say several enhancements make them even quicker and more forgiving than their 910 predecessors.

Those start with a clubface that features a forged, variable thickness insert. Made of 6-four titanium, it has a central thick portion that mirrors the outer face profile. But because the insert strikes to other elements of the 913 clubface, it becomes thinner and organically tapered, in order that it matches the body thickness on the face perimeter. That is designed to create extra consistent deflection across the entire face, which in turn gives extra ball speed and finally more distance throughout a larger space of the club.

“It’s faster on heel and toe hits,” says Steve Pelisek, general supervisor for Titleist golf clubs. “That’s what we heard from gamers after we first introduced these drivers out on Tour.”

In addition, Titleist technicians say that more optimal Center of Gravity (CG) locations within the 913 drivers not solely maximize distance potential but additionally enhance stability and forgiveness. That is partly the result of adjustments within the casting process, which allows the equipment maker to pro duce an extremely thin crown and then redistribute weight low and deep within the head.

A brand new SureFit Tour weight on the rear sole further optimizes CG within the 913s, whereas the corporate once employs the SureFit Tour hosel that debuted with the 910 to enable golfers to set lie and loft independently in these, a customization attribute Titleist describes as “Tour-Van-In-A-Hosel.”

The brand new 913s, which were first seeded on Tour last summer time and are currently being played by greater than 100 professionals worldwide, have additionally been engineered to create a fuller, longer and extra powerful sound at impact. The drivers comes in two fashions, with the D2 version having a full pear formed head 460cc in measurement with a slight draw bias. As for the D3, it has no flight bias and a more traditional pear formed, slightly smaller 445cc head.
